After Hours On-Call
Patient Emergencies
If the patient's condition changes significantly or for medical emergencies such as chest pain, difficulty in breathing, paralysis, bleeding, or falls, call 911 or your appropriate emergency access for immediate attention.
Non-Emergency
AmeriTex has a nurse on-call during unscheduled business hours (Monday-Friday before 8:30am or after 5:00pm, weekends, and holidays). Call the office at 972-660-2401 to speak to the nurse. If the nurse is on the line and a message needs to be left, please leave your name, the name of the patient, the telephone number and address, and a brief description of the problem. This message will be responded to within 30 minutes.
Referrals
Referrals can be received Monday-Friday before 8:30am or after 5:00pm or on weekends and holidays. Simply call the office at 972-660-2401 and you will be automatically transferred to the nurse on-call directly. After speaking with the nurse, fax the patient's history and physician orders to 972-660-2440. This information should include patient demographics, emergency contact, insurance payor source, diagnosis that supports home care needs, physician orders, ordering physician name and information, and a call back number for questions.
